Welding Department – Accredited Professional Training Program
Welding Department
The Welding Department is one of the most important specialized training departments in our institute. It offers a comprehensive vocational program that meets the needs of the Saudi and global labor market in the fields of manufacturing, construction, oil and gas, and energy.
The program is accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), and the institute is registered and accredited by Saudi Aramco, providing graduates with a strong opportunity to integrate into the largest industrial sectors in the Kingdom.
Course: Welding (12 Months)
The Welding Course lasts for 12 months and combines language training, basic knowledge, and advanced practical training. Trainees begin by strengthening their English language skills, then move on to basic curricula before entering specialized field training in various welding techniques.
The program consists of three main stages:
First: English Language Program
This program is specifically designed for employees and trainees who need to develop their language skills to succeed in technical work environments.
The program includes four levels, starting from beginner to pre-intermediate, with a focus on:
· Speaking skills
· Listening skills
· Reading skills
· Writing skills
Each course aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Global Scale of English (GSE).
Trainees who complete the preparatory levels can start vocational training alongside technical English.
Second: Core Curriculum (NCCER)
The internationally recognized NCCER curriculum provides a foundational content that relies on vocational and technical training.
Trainees can complete the modules faster or slower depending on their mastery level, with a recommended 150 hours of training.
The core units include:
· Occupational safety
· Industrial mathematics
· Hand tools
· Power tools
· Reading drawings
This curriculum is a prerequisite before beginning welding training at Level 1.
Third: “Welding Profession” Program
The department provides both theoretical and practical training covering the latest welding techniques used in factories and industrial projects.
The training includes:
· Adherence to occupational safety procedures
· Reading engineering and technical drawings and symbols
· Preparing tools, equipment, and welding machines
· Executing thermal cutting operations
Practical training includes:
· Gas Welding
· Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW)
· MIG / MAG Welding
· Submerged Arc Welding (SAW)
· TIG Welding
· Repair and maintenance skills in workshops and factories
Course Objectives
The Welding Course aims to:
· Equip trainees with professional skills in SMAW, MIG, TIG, Gas Welding, and SAW.
· Provide practical training on pipe welding, metal cutting, and component assembly.
· Improve skills in reading blueprints and understanding operational instructions.
· Enhance commitment to global safety standards and procedures.
