CERTIFICATE PROGRAMSDescription
Scaffolding Training Course (12 months)
The scaffolding course is a 12-month training program designed to equip trainees with the essential knowledge and skills needed to work safely and efficiently in erecting, inspecting, and using scaffolds at construction and industrial sites. The program begins with intensive English-language training, followed by the Core Curriculum program, and then progresses to specialized technical training in the field of scaffolding.
This program consists of three stages:
English Program:
The English program is specifically designed for employees in companies who wish to engage in continuous training at the workplace. The program consists of four courses, starting from beginner level and progressing to pre-intermediate level, focusing on developing all basic skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing in a structured manner. Each course has clear learning outcomes aligned with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF) and the Global Scale of English (GSE). Employees who complete the preparatory English levels 0 and 1 can begin diploma or professional training in parallel with technical English level 1 or level 2.
Core Curriculum:
The NCCER Core curriculum is designed as a rigorous, industry-approved program that focuses on competency-based education and vocational technical learning. Trainees can complete the required components in a shorter or longer time than the recommended 150 hours of knowledge- and skill-based education, depending on their level of mastery of the content.
The NCCER Core curriculum is a prerequisite for all level 1 craft programs. Its units cover topics such as basic safety, communication skills, and an introduction to construction drawings. The curriculum also includes a new elective unit providing information on career paths in construction, in addition to more precise performance testing and comprehensive updates in mathematics, hand tools, power tools, and drawings.
Scaffolding Craft Program (Technical Training)
The scaffolding program aims to train trainees in the practical and theoretical skills related to erecting, dismantling, and inspecting all types of scaffolds in compliance with NCCER, OSHA, and Saudi Aramco standards.
This program provides comprehensive training that covers all essential aspects of safe and professional scaffold work. Trainees learn about different types of scaffolds such as Tube & Coupler, Frame, and System Scaffolds, in addition to studying scaffold parts and components.
The program includes advanced training on safety procedures, working and dead load standards, as well as how to read and interpret scaffold drawings and perform safe erection and dismantling procedures. It also covers daily and periodic inspection skills, working in confined spaces and at high elevations, handling energy sources and hazardous environments, as well as hazard reporting and emergency response related to scaffolding.
Course Objectives:
· Understanding Scaffold Standards & Regulations: Introduce trainees to international and local scaffolding standards such as OSHA, NCCER, and Saudi Aramco requirements.
· Develop Professional Scaffolding Skills: Train trainees to handle all types of scaffolds in a safe and proper manner.
· Safe Erection & Dismantling: Teach trainees the steps for erecting and dismantling scaffolds according to international standards.
· Load Identification: Understand scaffold loads, capacity limits, and how to calculate them.
· Inspection Techniques: Train trainees to inspect scaffolds and ensure they are safe for use.
· Use of PPE for Working at Heights: Provide training on personal protective equipment required for working at heights.
· Hazard Recognition: Identify hazards during scaffold operations and learn how to avoid them.
· Fall Protection: Understand fall protection systems and how they integrate with scaffolding work.
· Emergency Response: Learn how to respond to incidents such as falls or scaffold collapse.
· Communication Skills: Train trainees on effective communication during scaffolding operations.
Career Opportunities After Graduation:
· Scaffolding Scaffolder (Erection & Dismantling Technician)
· Scaffolding Supervisor
· Scaffolding Inspector
· Scaffolding Safety Officer
· Scaffold Coordinator in industrial and construction sites
· Safety Assistant specialized in working-at-height activities
· Industrial Scaffold Technician (Oil & Gas)Maintenance Scaffolding Specialist
