Certified Professional Training Program - Electrical Installations and Wiring
Program Duration: 12 Months
Program Overview:
The Electrical Installations and Wiring department is one of the specialized and leading training departments at our institute. This program offers a comprehensive training curriculum that meets the needs of both the Saudi and global job markets in manufacturing, contracting, oil and gas, and energy sectors. The program is accredited by the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), and the institute is registered and recognized by Saudi Aramco, providing graduates with strong opportunities for integration into the largest industrial sectors in the Kingdom.
Electrician Training Course
Course Duration: 12 Months
The course spans 12 months, integrating linguistic training, basic knowledge, and specialized practical training. Trainees begin by strengthening their English language skills, followed by the core curriculum, before engaging in advanced field training in electrical installations.
Program Phases:
First: English Language Program
· Objective: Designed for employees and trainees who wish to develop their language skills for success in technical work environments.
· Content:
- Four levels, from beginner to pre-intermediate.
- Focus on speaking, listening, reading, and writing.
- Aligns with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and the Global Scale of English (GSE).
- Allows trainees who complete the preparatory levels to begin professional training concurrently with technical English learning.
Second: Core Curriculum (NCCER Core)
· Objective: A mandatory requirement for all Level 1 craft programs.
· Content:
- Covers essential topics including occupational safety, communication skills, construction drawings and diagrams, performance tests, professional mathematics, hand and electrical tools, and engineering drawings interpretation.
- Provides a solid knowledge base that enables trainees to confidently advance in their professional specialties.
Third: Electrical Installation Program
This program includes focused theoretical and practical training covering the latest techniques and practices used in electrical installation and manufacturing within factories and large-scale industrial projects.
The training includes the following:
· Basic Safety (Task 2.1):
- Professional Role: A comprehensive introduction to the role and core responsibilities of an electrician.
- Occupational Safety: Thorough understanding of occupational safety systems (HSE).
- Tools and Equipment: Safe and proper usage of specialized hand and electrical tools.
· Introduction to Construction Mathematics:
- Applied Mathematics: Applying basic engineering mathematics in:
* Basic electrical installation calculations.
* Angle cutting calculations.
* Determining complex wiring paths.
· Introduction to Hand Tools (Task 3.1):
- Hand Tools: Study of basic tools required for electrical installations and how to use them safely and effectively.
· Introduction to Power Tools (Task 3.2):
- Power Tools: Use of electrical tools for electrical installations and learning how to use them correctly and safely.
· Introduction to Construction Drawings:
- Reading and Analyzing Diagrams: Mastery in reading and understanding detailed electrical system diagrams.
· Basic Communication Skills:
- Communication Skills: Acquiring fundamental communication skills that assist in teamwork and ensure precise understanding of technical instructions.
· Basic Employability Skills:
- Employability Skills: Learning basic skills essential for success in work environments, such as teamwork, problem-solving, and time management.
· Introduction to Material Handling:
· Material Handling: Learning how to handle various electrical materials, from wires to electrical devices, and how to use them safely in work environments.
Course Objectives:
· Mastering Electrical Diagram Reading:
- Master reading and understanding detailed electrical diagrams, including isometric drawings and process flow diagrams (P&ID).
· Understanding Electrical Components:
- Recognizing different components of electrical systems, such as wires, conductors, electrical switches, lamps, fuses, and other essential electrical equipment.
· Understanding International Codes and Standards:
- Learning and applying international codes and standards such as NEC and the Saudi Building Code to ensure that electrical systems are designed and installed according to global standards.
· Performing Accurate Calculations and Measurements:
- Performing electrical calculations such as load calculations, circuit resistance calculations, precise electrical wire measurements, and angle cutting calculations.
· Electrical Wiring and Component Installation Skills:
- Acquiring skills in preparing electrical wiring for installation, and learning proper methods for soldering and connecting electrical wires and components.
· Training on Electrical System Assembly and Installation:
- Hands-on training on electrical assembly, alignment, and ensuring proper installation of electrical components such as switches, outlets, fuses, and lighting devices.
· Applying Electrical System Testing Procedures:
- Implementing electrical system testing procedures such as pressure testing, leakage testing, and continuity testing using electrical testing equipment.
· Safe Handling of Electrical Tools and Equipment:
- Adhering to occupational safety procedures (HSE) and using electrical tools and equipment safely to minimize risks during installation and maintenance.
· Ensuring Work Quality (QC) According to Engineering Specifications:
- Ensuring that work is completed according to high engineering standards by monitoring quality (QC) and ensuring compliance with industry specifications.
· Practical Training in Electrical System Maintenance:
- Gaining the skills necessary for the maintenance of electrical devices, circuits, and components, with the ability to detect faults and perform repairs in electrical systems.

· This sector is the largest and most important employer of qualified electricians in the Kingdom, due to the size of ongoing projects.
